Longview Privacy Policy
Effective October 4, 2026
In short: we don't collect any of your data. Longview has no accounts, no servers, no ads, and no analytics or tracking tools. Your health data is read and processed only on your own iPhone. It is never sent to us or to anyone else.
Who we are
Longview (年轮 in Chinese) is developed and published by DATA4U PTE. LTD. (Singapore, UEN 202638270N) ("we", "us"). This policy explains how Longview handles your information.
What Longview reads
With your permission, Longview reads the following from Apple Health to draw long-term trends and Your Day (all your history layered by time of day): cardio fitness (VO₂ max), resting heart rate, heart rate variability, walking heart rate average, sleep (including sleep stages), steps, weight, body fat percentage, workouts, exercise minutes and time in daylight. You can allow only some of these, and you can turn access off at any time in Settings › Health › Data Access & Devices › Longview.
- Longview never writes to Apple Health. It does not change or delete any of your health records.
- All calculations (weekly averages, trend lines, year-over-year comparisons, time-of-day layering) happen on your iPhone.
- To open faster, Longview keeps a copy of the calculated weekly averages in its own app storage. This cache is protected by iOS file encryption and excluded from iCloud and computer backups.
- Health data is never used for advertising or marketing, and is never sold or shared with anyone.
What we don't collect
Longview doesn't require you to sign up or sign in. It does not collect your name, email, phone number, location, contacts, device identifiers or usage history. It contains no third-party analytics, advertising or tracking SDKs, and it does not track you across other apps or websites. Longview has no servers of its own, so there is nowhere for your data to be sent.
Purchases
Purchases, subscriptions and refunds for Longview Pro are handled entirely by Apple's App Store. We never receive your payment details or Apple Account information. The app only checks, on your device and through Apple's own interfaces, whether a purchase is active in order to unlock Pro features.
Share images
Longview creates a trend image on your device only when you tap Share, and you choose where it goes (for example Messages, WeChat, or your photo library). We can't see what you share or with whom. Saving to Photos requires add-only photo access; Longview does not read your photo library.
Crash reports
If you have turned on "Share With App Developers" on your iPhone, Apple may provide us with anonymous crash and performance diagnostics so we can fix problems. These reports do not contain your health data. You can turn this off in Settings › Privacy & Security › Analytics & Improvements.
Deleting your data
Deleting the Longview app removes everything it stored on your iPhone, including the cache. Your original data in Apple Health is not affected. Because we don't keep any of your data, there is nothing for us to delete on our side.
Children
Longview is not directed at children under 13, and we do not knowingly collect information from children (in fact, we don't collect information from anyone).
Not medical advice
Longview only charts data you already have. It doesn't diagnose, score, or give medical advice. If you feel unwell, talk to a doctor.
Changes to this policy
If the way Longview handles data changes, we will update this page and the effective date above first. Any change that involves collecting new data will be announced in the app beforehand.
